Rupert Murdoch and the Art of Mega-Deals
Found an article that gives some more information about Rupert Murdoch. The Art of Mega-Deals: Rupert Murdoch and Pragmatic Foresight gives a fair bit of info on the media mogul, most of it seems to be pulled out of two books Virtual Murdoch: Reality Wars on the Information Superhighway by Neil Chenoweth and The Murdoch Mission: The Digital Transformation of a Media Empire by Wendy Goldman Rohm.
A pdf version of the article can be downloaded here. The article tries to briefly explain Murdoch’s use of pragmatic foresight and game theory to tackle his problems.

And in case you didn’t know it already… Mr. Murdoch is pumping in $100 million into India to start six regional channels. He first ventured into the country way back in 1991 with STAR TV.
A bit on Rupert Murdoch’s history in India
Rupert Murdoch’s adventure in Asia began way back in 1991 with Satellite Television Asian Region (STAR).
This paper titled “Taming the Dragon and the Elephant: Murdoch’s media in Asia” by Daya Kishan Thussu gives a brief lowdown on Murdoch’s history in Asia, especially India.
First five pages are mostly historical facts tracing Murdoch’s entry into India and other developments; then it delves into Murdochisation, Foxification, media imperialism, et al.
Rupert Murdoch sets aside $100m for India
The grand old daddy of media has set his eyes on fresh territory. Rupert Murdoch plans to expand News Corp’s presence in India. He has announced plans to launch six regional TV channels within the next 12months at investments totaling $100 million.
